The SevenMile blog picks up on the the domaining community’s demand for L-L-L .com domains. A L-L-L.com is a 5 character domain name consisting of three letters separated by two hyphens. This week I was very surprised to see reports on the NamePros.com domain name discusstion forum that L-L-L.com domain names had more or less all gone. They have been called the poor persons three letter .com and my understanding is that in terms of search engine optimization they perform the same as any other 3 letter .com (I mean Google/ search engines ignore the hyphens). I don’t think it will be too long before all the L-L-L.net domains are taken as well – especially pronounceable ones.
Meanwhile on two major domain name discussion forums, the rapidly dwindling stock of LLLL.com domains is being discussed. Read what domainers are saying about this in this thread on DomainState.com and this one at NamePros.com . The four letter dot com specialist site Dyyo.com says that there are only around 1550 LLLL.com s left unregistered today, (it also lists them) although some more are being ‘tasted’ by domain tasters. Only the least favoured letters / letter combinations appear to be left unregistered.
Yep, all gone.
I have picked up quite a few LLLL.coms over the years, so I am hoping and expecting the value of LLLL.coms to rise considerably now they are all registered.
Yes I am convinced that the values of LLLL.coms will shoot right up over the next 12 – 18 months.
